5 TIPS ON SPRING CLEANING YOUR CAR

Posted by Zane Winberg on

You might already have a plan for spring yardwork, or the deep cleaning and window-washing you need to undertake in your home. But have you thought about your spring car cleaning and maintenance? You spend so much critical time in your car – it deserves a good spring clean. Spring cleaning your vehicle makes is healthier, younger, and much more fun to drive. It doesn’t take too much effort to spring clean your car, just set aside the first sunny Saturday you get and make it happen.

Full Visibility

Don’t clean your car in your garage, in the dark, in a cramped parking lot, or while you’ve still got kids in the backseat. This means you may have to wait until the weather warms up so that you can pull your car out onto your driveway, but it’s worth it. You need to be able to clearly see all the surfaces of your car.

Trash First

Empty out your entire car – and trunk. Don’t stop at your center console or glovebox either. Get your car totally and completely cleaned out. We’re willing to bet that once your car is cleaned you won’t want to put half of that junk back in it.

Wash

Clean the exterior of your car with a bucket & soap, or take it to a car wash. Shampoo the floor mats while you’re at it. Don’t forget to tackle foggy headlights and tiny corners around your vehicle.

Detail

Go in with a vacuum and get familiar with the attachment parts so that you can really clean crevices and underneath seats. You can use a toothbrush and toothpaste to get into grooves on the exterior of your car and to remove bugs and other gross things the car wash didn’t tackle.

Finish

Nanoboost shine spray is protective and cosmetic, because it creates a shiny layer that brings out your car’s natural shine and color, while also protecting the surface underneath. Apply to the exterior of your vehicle, but also use a protective car interior spray to recondition your seats, consoles, and other surfaces inside your car. Finish with a car scent booster to make it feel even fresher and more exciting to drive.

For bonus points we recommend a quick tune up or oil change at the end of the heavy winter season, since it can be extra weight on your car. Soon you’ll be ready to drive to baseball games and farmer’s markets in your shiny, spring cleaned car.
