NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS FOR YOUR CAR

Posted by Zane Winberg on

Eat more vegetables, drink more water, get a gym pass, read a book or two… New Year’s Resolutions are all around!

There’s nothing better than a fresh start to get your life to a better, cleaner, healthier place.

Even if most of our New Year’s Resolutions are abandoned a few months in, if it causes you to make a few good changes then at least it’s worth that, right? Right. Making New Year’s Resolutions is a good idea for you, but have you ever thought about adding your car to that?

You don’t even realize how much time you spend in your car, or how much you depend on it for your daily life. Just think about it for a second - what would you do if suddenly something happened to your car? Yeah. It could be bad. Not to mention how much you LOVE your car, outside of it’s necessity.

Your car is an extension of your home, a symbol of your personality. It’s worth your love and attention. Why not make a commitment to it in 2016, too?

Here are 3 Steps to Treating Your Car Right in the New Year

  1. Start out fresh with a complete car wash and detail. Take it to your favorite local car wash and give it the best treatment you can afford - it’s worth it! Not only is it nice to have a super clean car, but the winter months can actually be pretty detrimental to the interior and exterior of your car. Constant freezing and thawing can cause problems in the nooks, crannies, and gears of your car. Salt damage can have a permanent scarring effect. So not only should your get your car washed and detailed, you should make a resolution to keep your car cleaner in 2016!
  2. Schedule a tune up, even if you aren’t due for one yet. Choose a local auto shop you trust and get your car looked at. It isn’t very expensive to get a quick oil change and tune up, and it can prevent damage later on. Have them look at buildup in your engine, top off your fluids, and give you a head’s up about any potential problems. Then make a commitment to come back before the next oil change is due, just to be safe. Regular oil changes and tune ups are the easiest way to prevent engine sludge or increased friction in your engine.
  3. Start using a fuel additive. This is a very simple step which will greatly improve the fuel efficiency of your car. Fuel additives are inexpensive, especially if you buy a larger quantity now to use throughout the year as a New Year’s Resolution. If you pour a little fuel additive into your full tank of gas, such as CleanBoost Maxx, you will help your fuel burn cleaner and faster, leaving nothing behind and increasing your fuel efficiency by using every last expensive drop of gas. This is a New Years Resolution which will not only protect and improve your car - but also save you money in the long run! Talk about improving in 2016!

As you make your New Year’s Resolutions, don’t forget your beloved car. No matter how old, worn down, or dinged up your car may be, you can make 2016 a better year for your auto by a good wash, an oil change, and a good dose of fuel additive!
